I know, I know. Both his first and last names are incorrectly spelled… but that’s why it’s my favorite search on POLITUSIC today.
… two reasons why it’s my favorite search, actually:
First: I had my eyes checked today, where they give you pupil dilation drops and the world suddenly gets really bright… sorta psychedelic, but only with white light and not all the colors and movement (not that I would know to what I’m comparing, or anything). BUT when the doctor said to look up to give me yet more drops after the whole dialaion thing, he said, “look up right at that picture on the ceiling”
…and who was it a picture of…. Jimi Hendrix! A tie-dyed Are You Experienced vibe. When I asked if he or his staff put if up there (he was a bit older, late 60’s I’m guessing) he replied that his staff is all probably too young to even know who Jimi Hendrix (Jimmy Hendricks…) is / was / still is, whatever.
That brings me to the second reason why it’s my favorite search: whoever searched for “Jimmy Hendricks” probably just learned about him, and as such, thrashed the spelling of his name…. so someone new learned a little bit about the greatest guitar player of all time (that link takes you to the post they found). It’s always cool when someone newly discovers a great artist from the past. Music lives on.
Maybe it was one of those youngsters working with the tie-dyed optometrist… that would make a rather nice symmetry to the day. Very much a Volkswagon commercial moment, indeed.
And, Mr. Optometrist: cheers for asking your patients to look at Jimi Hendrix poster when you dilate their eyes. Nice idea.
