It’s a bit of a cheeky video, but it fits the political system we live in, I suppose. I’ve been ranting about how Republicans think that Americans are generally stupid, and therefore their votes can be bought. unPAC’s goal is to inform people of the impact of money in American politics, and thusly get people involved in fancy things like facts, policy, and reality rather than letting money be the sole determination (or at least the determining factor 94% of the time).
Get Big Money Out of Politics.
One point that’s important as well is the claim that 2/3 of the people in the United States want to ban Super PACs… yet Super PACs are still running the political show… BECAUSE there is just that much money involved. Even though we want them gone: because of their power they’re still around. So I guess we need a super SUPER majority to make a law to reverse Citizen’s United and prove that Democracy is not owned by those who have the most money to spend.
So it’s up to us, not you, not me, and pray NOT the dozen über rich who are buying up votes by the hundreds.
The one thing that ALWAYS will win: Education. Don’t believe what’s being sold to you and do some research. Make your vote count and make it the RIGHT vote, not the angry vote or the purchased vote.
