Proper news sites across the globe have been posting about fake news on facebook, and how people running satire websites have made a lot of money – possibly even helping Reality TV Show Trump become President Trump.
News and opinion pieces have been sprouting like weeds. Articles saying that the Republican Party base is, shall we say, more factually vulnerable, and therefore prone to believe anything that comes their way; especially if it reinforces their own entrenched biases.
We’ve been saying this for years!
…yes, sometimes even POLITUSIC gets bitter… four or five years of yelling at a wall only to have this country finally wake up after Donald Trump wins the presidency (i.e. when it’s too damn late), can create a wee bit of bitterness.
Fake news takes over facebook… no, really?!?! It’s a shame no one else was also apparently paying attention to the fundamental socio-political problem that the republican base cannot understand satire, and therefore eats that stuff up as “truth”.
How do you think the Tea Party came into being in the first place!?!?
OK… virtual venting is over. It’s been a very different week and a half around here… Sorry.
But honestly, America, please get it together and trust us when we say you cannot avoid the political darkness any longer.
There are big issues at stake, and it’s time to stop sweeping them under the rug. President Donald Trump is the fault of liberals and moderates who let the right-wing eat its own tail in the republican echo chamber for too long. It’s our fault, not theirs.
Now it’s time to fix it.
