This conservative commercial that raps (if you can call it that) about how immigrants are taking away jobs of the 20-somethings has spawned a nwe recurring post theme on POLITUSIC: Best Worst Commercial. I’m certain there will be more.
It truly is in the vein of the infamous original Education Connection commercial. The first time I saw that one I though someone had spiked my drink.
I can just see a third-rate ad firm in the mid-west contracted by a conservative group tasked with “how do you we reach those young white kids and make them support all the anti-imimgration laws that republicans want to pass?” We we all know, the play that the conservatives always run on the first down is: Hate Obama, so that has to be in there. Then strike fear into them that they’ve wasted all their money on college, not because college is amazingly expensive and it’s a hard job market, but because all those illegal immigrants are taking the white collar jobs for which you trained in college. Put it to really bad music, a terrible rap, and even worse lyrics and you have a white-bread anti-immigration rap. It’s not hip-hop… broken hip hop, maybe.
I mean… how can you beat, “Let’s tell Congress, that’s not cool! I may be jobless, but I’m no fool.” I’m surprised they didn’t include Mitt asking who let the dogs out.
Alas, congratulations on winning the Inarguable Best Worst Commercial prize on POLITUSIC.
