It’s doubtful the stylish Glenn Beck trousers will be seen on the runways during fashion week in NYC, but nevertheless, we must nod our heads to Glenn Beck for making pants as another method of republican “parrotriots” making money off right-wing extremism.
Why would “Call me crazy while petting a scared rabbit” Glenn Beck decide to get into the clothing market? As with everything in republicanland lately: China – or at least the story is he “discovered” that blue jeans, which he declares a distinctly American product (can’t argue much with him there), are predominantly NOT made in the United States (… similar to all of Donald Trump’s clothing made in China…..)
So fear not Republicans who feel as though America has been stolen from you: now you can wear Glenn Beck Jeans made right here in the US of A!
Says Glenn Beck, “These were the first American blue jeans… The jeans that built America. And that were built in America. Built at a time when things were timeless. A time when we knew things would last. A time when people worked for their dreams, and their dreams worked for them.”
What’s the catch? That’s the good part.
Price for Glenn Beck Jeans: $129.00. Oh, and one more thing: they’re only made for men. And the shirts are around $90.00 … how many blue collar workers for whom Glenn Beck claims these wonderful products are designed can spend that much money on a pair of pants or a shirt? (We’re fairly certain that the women’s jean dress looking similar to Little House on the Prairie will be following shortly for all the women out there who want to make patriotic statements by buying into the 1791 clothing line.)
But wait! There’s More! (isn’t there always)…
Another reason Glenn Beck Jeans came about is because at one point he decided to boycott Levi (for some “anti-American” falsehood as always). Yeah… well… a little research dug up by Business Week’s Susan Berfield revealed that the denim for Glenn’s 1791 jeans… yeah… made at the same plant (in North Carolina) where Levi gets its denim.
…Ooops…
