Elton John’s music is a lot like he is: it’s never boring and it’s always up to something.
Some people might balk to admit if they like him or not, but I’m a fan of Elton John’s early music, and importantly what he’s able to do throughout his career in entertainment (not just music , but productions, charities, etc.) His extremely broad reach into the music world from albums to movies to broadway musicals is somewhat unprecedented. I may not “like” broadway music as a style, but he certainly is good at it (and made it better than most) so I also respect those musical efforts a heck of a lot. (Elton John Video)

And in other Elton John News:
“Elton John is moving forward with plans to turn his life story into a major movie-musical. The veteran musician is teaming with his film producer partner David Furnish and Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall to work on Rocketman, which will tell the story of the star’s life and career through his music.”
See: he’s always up to something.
I suppose the bottom like for me is that Elton John has written an amazingly large amount of music. He’s had something close to 50 songs (if not more) on the billboard charts, and is somehow able to keep creating more music and being involved in entertainment. Crazy glasses and funny piano-playing faces aside: Elton John is always up to something musically cool and often times great.
And who else, really, could “give advice” like this to Madonna without getting totally $@&! for it?

And somewhat thanks to that darn movie “Almost Famous” Tiny Dancer made a bit of a comeback in the 90’s; sorta reminded us and taught the Elton John song to a new generation:

From IMDB:
Sir Elton John is one of pop music’s great survivors. Born 25 March, 1947, as Reginald Kenneth Dwight, he started to play the piano at the early age of four. At the age of 11, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. His first band was called Bluesology. He later auditioned (unsuccessfully) as lead singer for the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Gentle Giant. Dwight teamed up with lyricist Bernie Taupin and changed his name to Elton John (merging the names of saxophonist Elton Dean and Long John Baldry). The duo wrote songs for Lulu and Roger Cook. In the early 1970s, he recorded the concept album “Tumbleweed Connection.” He became the most successful pop artist of the 1970s, and he has survived many different pop fads including punk, the New Romantics and Britpop to remain one of Britain’s most internationally acclaimed musicians.
