You wouldn't think such a tiny box could get this loud. The Roland Micro Cube is a solid little practise amp. I picked one up a couple of years ago for only $160ish, and it's still going strong.
This amp is packed with features and sounds great at low or high volume. I especially like the Black Panel setting – A good clean sound with a nice bit of crunch when you dig into it. There are two other clean settings – one for electric and one for acoustic, and two more channels with overdrive. The built-in effects are superb (reverb, phaser, delay, chorus, flanger, tremolo), there's an onboard tuner, and this thing can even run on battery power for 20 hours!
The Cube is a tad quiet for a full band rehearsal with drums, but definitely loud enough for practising at home, or for playing a small 'unplugged' type gig. I've even done some studio recording through it as I like some of the sounds. All in all, I reckon you can get way more out of this little box than you'd expect for the price. And the best part is, it'll fit inside a backpack.
