Point by point, piece by piece, former President Bill Clinton destroyed all the counter arguments from the Republicans and he did it with something Republicans don’t have: facts.
Facts, facts, facts. FINALLY someone used the facts. Now we’ll see if people who matter in swing states are listening and get pull away from the chatter of lies on the right. Since, unlike any of the RNC speeches, there were a lot of facts in Clint’s speech at the DNC, I didn’t have enough time to turn away and write them all down.
Two of the most memorable, however:
“Politics doesn’t have to be a blood sport”
“Don’t vote for someone who wants to double down on trickle down.”
In over 45 minutes, packed with actual policy, and numbers, and lots of arithmetic, Bill Clinton made the concrete case for re-electing Barack Obama… AND voting down ticket so that compromise can once again be possible in Washington, DC.
Clinton did the job of “making the case” for re-electing Barack Obama even better than I expected him to do. I am so proud that he actually said the word “hate”, and within context and meaning. That Clinton used the word “hate” in reference to the extreme right is important. Someone has to air America’s dirty laundry and Bill Clinton was the man. So few people involved in politics have called them out (the extreme right) on “hate” of Barack Obama – they just use “extreme and single-minded in defeating the President”… but the fact is they HATE him, and it’s caused all of these problems.
As I said earlier: vote all democrat if you want to get anything done. Re-elect Obama, and give him the help he needs in Congress by getting the crazy tea partiers out so that we can finally get something done.
