Once again, Mitt Romney proves he is patently NOT the sort of person who is capable of being President of the United States. He proves that he is an idiot when it comes to anything that extends beyond an Excel spreadsheet or parroting what right-wing radio says he needs to say in order to win the republican base. That is NOT a leader. That’s a puppet.
Moreover, doubling down on threats might work when you’re buying and liquidating companies, but it’s not the de-facto move when trying to keep peace in a very, very complicated world. Nuance and tact are lost on Mitt.
In yet another embarrassing attempt to win a quick political punch and get a quote on Fox News, the Mitt Romney campaign sends out a statement harshly accusing the Obama Administration of “apologizing for American values” in relation to the riot at a US Consulate in Libya… criticizing a statement issued from the Egyptian Embassy BEFORE any of the protests even started. And now, even worse, he continues his “I’m a big, strong, decisive man” push by trying to politically exploit the killing of 4 Americans.
First: the catalyst statement is not true. There was no apology in the statement, especially not by the President or the administration. It was an on-the-ground attempt made unilaterally by people inside the embassy to try and calm down the situation. More importantly, however, Mitt Romney completely missed the boat (as usual). He’s trying to explode the issue to win an election no matter how wrong he is, and no matter how much potential damage he does in the process.
Every single time Mitt Romney wades into International waters he offends someone. Every. Single. Time. Furthermore, every single time he doubles down on his mistakes! Standing firm often times works if you’re a businessman trying to get a good deal on a buyout of a struggling company… it does NOT work if you are running a country and trying to keep peace with the rest of the world.
Mitt is swinging wildly like a kindergartener in a school yard fight; using “the apologist” theory of Rush Limbaugh to try and win another voter. Stop Mitt. It’s embarrassing, and you are doing more damage that can further enflame already hot situations. Even though you are NOT president, you have a high profile, and things you say are heard overseas. You have a responsibility to NOT be a total moron, and you are not living up to that responsibility. You have NO IDEA how to behave as a public figure whose words actually matter in the country and the world. You understand spreadsheets, but you clearly do not understand people.
Mitt Romney is incapable of understanding nuance, ESPECIALLY when it is an intense situation that does not involve anything related to being able to read a balance sheet.
EVERYONE who read the first statement from the White House has said that its purpose was an attempt to calm down he situation. It was a dangerous situation and the point was to try and get people to stop and breathe for a second… to try and make sure people don’t die.
And then Mitt Romney jumps on it and releases a statement not knowing a damn thing about the facts.
But what’s more astounding is that Mitt Romney now KNOWS the facts, and yet he doubles down on the criticism of the President, regardless of who said what, why and when, as always fact checkers do not dictate the Romney campaign.
It is such a desperate attempt at winning votes from the right… who already will vote for him… by using this right-wing term “appeaser” over and over again, that the rest of the normal people in this country knows is not true. Mitt Romney has been sucked into the black hole of extreme right wing paranoia, race bating, and religion bating. He is no president and never will be.
Mitt Romney is an amateur. Over and over again he demonstrates a total lack of ability to understand any situation outside of his own bank account. He is ALWAYS wrong on foreign policy and sends out knee-jerk statements like this that only do MORE damage to the situation.
Mitt Romney is a “freakin’ idiot” A total and complete, wild punch swinging, throw even the kitchen sink to win an election and make his late father proud, pathological lying idiot.
