Wait one second!!! I think there are parts of this video that might very well qualify as a conspiracy theory of the left! How HAPPY am I ?!?! I’ve been hoping and seeking something for years!
Only potential problem is… it’s sort of boring… and predominately true… not so great for theatrical conspiracy theories at which the right is so adept. Good conspiracies usually involve aliens, 29 degrees of separation, or men in black suits with no name and strong jaw lines. The left seems to pick much more attractive people to pitch their theories in video than the right does, however. At least the beautiful people give me something to stare at when it gets boring, right? Cheers to the casting director.
Thoughts on “The three pronged republican strategy to win 2012”
- It’s not that far off. Where I balk, however, is the extent to which republicans are “sabotaging the economy” to put President Obama in a more difficult position to win the election. While I hate to counter the argument (because I DO believe the republican party wants to do it, but that not all of them are), it’s only “mostly” right… the newbies, the teenager tea party republicans in congress are like the henchmen of the economy. The turtle leaders just have to let them roam free, and as we’ve seen, they’ll build barricades against any and all Democratic … AND Republican… policies. So yes: Republicans are having a negative impact on the economy, and yes that hurts Obama, but in my idealist mind, there are still some good republican partisans out there… though most of them are throwing in their hats and retiring. True, however, that the average American (the ill-informed voter republicans so heavily count on to win) do predominately blame the President.
- Round up the rich to spend a billion dollars to win. This one is absolutely true, and sadly everyone knows it. Apathy and a lack of will to educate on real policy on the part of the average voter is winning the day, so in turn, whoever spends the most on advertising wins. Republicans know that, and since they’ve promised everything from a 1% tax rate to drilling in Yosemite to the billionaires of the US, they have all the money they need.
- Republicans blocking the vote. This falls under apathy as well. As this video shows, there’s a republican publicly saying: voter ID laws means Mitt Romney wins. EVERYONE knows these laws are intended to restrict the vote on minorities, young people, and the elderly, all of whom tend to lean more democratic. Off all of them, this one pisses me off the most and in the long run is the most dangerous insofar as whether or not we are actually a democracy where people vote, or if we’re a revolving door where those in charge always decide who sits on the thrown next.
