I was looking at state-wide presidential polls on politico.com today and realized that there are certain states, the “die red or die hard” states that most people regardless of party affiliation can list off the top of their head, that are SOOOO red they don’t bother to do polls once the GOP Primary was over. Deep, deep red. Ingrained red.
Does anyone else find that a little bit disturbing?
On the other hand, on that same list, you don’t find a blue state that doesn’t having polling data that includes both Obama and Romney, even for “hopelessly blue” states like California.
States so red that they don’t even bother polling, however, very blue states still have post-primary polls comparing the two major candidates… does that say anything? I feel like it does, but am assuming my reaction is that of “a typical elitist liberal.”
I’m just asking: what does it say about a state when it is so red that they don’t even bother polling between the current president of the United States and his Republican challenger?
It just doesn’t feel right.
