George W. Bush, the lead-from-behind his own VP President once said, “There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.” Cue Cheney and his daughter in the family’s latest re-write history effort.
Shame on you Tea Party, neocons, and super conservatives: Dick Cheney and daughter Liz are trying to fool you again. Former VP Cheney, his daughter, and the entire pro-Iraq War crew are trying to take advantage of Iraq once again falling apart to re-write history so that it all starts with President Obama. “Don’t look at who started the war, look only at the guy who got stuck with the aftermath!”
I ask conservatives in America: will you allow yourselves to be fooled again, or did you learn the first time?
The great irony of Dick Cheney’s latest attempt to fool the nation is the tag line of the father-daughter WSJ article, “Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many.” Cheney is describing his former boss, GW, who as we know most times just did what Cheney told him to do!
And so it seems that Cheney has officially moved into Republicanland with daughter Liz (while “other” daughter who happens to be gay is hopefully nowhere near this family implosion of morality and sound judgement). The conspiracy, hate-mongering world officially has a Cheney Ranch. The republican monetizing hate world where there is no accountability, and no awareness of facts or history. A land where all they do is attack President Obama and accept donations for doing so. That is the only thing they know how to do. This is what a former VP of the United States now does. Shame.
Cheney and Liz are making intro videos and using phrases like “squandered our freedom”, and “misleading rhetoric” in a Wall Street Journal op-ed title, “The Collapsing Obama Doctrine”. The point? Re-write history and show Americans an even more monumental demonstration of hypocrisy. of his tenure as VP. The op-ed reads more like Alex Jones than something by a former Vice President of the United States. Cheney’s behavior puts a shadow over the dignity of the office. Cheney makes it smell bad. No one should ever think of Cheney as a statesmen hereafter. He’s not a serious man like his demeanor would have everyone believe – he’s a hack. He has forfeited any dignity by becoming a jabber for the extreme right wing.
The Cheney family fund-raising fiasco attacks President Obama like an angry, bitter dog – and they’re counting on all the ignorant people in America facts because they’ve been taught to hate Obama to such a rabid and blinding degree. They’re counting on the fact that the right wing will conveniently forget that it was he, Dick Cheney, not Barack Obama, who started the Iraq war, and had no idea whatsoever what to do after the first bombs dropped. Cheney and his pro-war posse almost single-handedly ruined America’s reputation in the world – and now he’s counting on deflecting that blame in history by means of the brainwashed within the republican party who will believe anything so long as the ultimate message is, “it’s Obama’s fault”.
Lest we forget, we must always remind the war-mongers in America: Dick Cheney was wrong about Iraq. All the neocons were wrong about everything. Everything. They. Were. Wrong. Why in the world is anyone putting them on TV and in print?
Cheney and all the neocons who sold America on the Iraq war were wrong. There’s no doubt about that. What Cheney is doing now is nothing more than exploiting an opportunity to once again try to re-write history by getting the American Idiots to believe that Iraq is entirely Obama’s fault. Just like those who blame Obama for hurricane Katrina. Idiots. That’s the only way Republicans stay in office and make money these days: counting on idiots in America.
We can see how desperate Cheney is in his desire to once again fool the republican base. The man is old and looking back on his life. All people at that stage want to erase the bad parts of their life. In this case, the bad part in this particular person’s life is starting a freakin’ war! As we can see, it takes a bit more work to erase that before going to the great hunting grounds in the sky.
The recent Cheney and daughter op-ed reads more like an over-the-top accusation fest penned by a Fox News personality than by a person who used to be considered a serious ming the world. It includes accusations like, “President Obama seems determined to leave office ensuring he has taken America down a notch”. Yes, Dick, President Obama is trying to make America worse. This whole narrative the ultra-conservative has in their DNA now that all democrats want to destroy American has turned into a disease – now led by someone who is behaving not like a former vice president, but more like all the rest of the right wing media whores who make money of hate and stupidity of the conservative right wing.
GOP base, remember what George W. Bush told you: Don’t get fooled again!
