I’m tired of Mitt Romney and the Republican’s ignoring reality by repeating over and over again that President Obama is anti-capitalism.
- Obama has cut taxes 17 times for the small business “job creators” that Republicans keep shouting that are being “killed” by his policies. 17 times!
- The Bush tax cuts Obama wants to let expire apply to only the income OVER $250,000 that’s earned by anyone who earns that much (people are NOT taxed the higher rate for any money below that, only money they make over that). Most Republicans are trying to spin it that it’s a huge rate on all income, and it’s not.
- The rate is the same as Clinton… people have already paid this rate… and that was the last time the US government actually had a surplus… because it had revenue! Every study in the world shows how the Bush tax cuts have played a huge role in exploding the deficit.
- Not extending those Bush tax cuts, over $250,000, affects ONLY 3.3% of all small businesses. NOT all small businesses.
- Businesses get even more tax credits if they do NOT outsource jobs under Obama’s various plans. Hire people, actually create jobs, and the government says thank you. That’s good capitalism, not anti-capitalism.
- Wall street is doing better than it has. Ever. Ever. Oil companies have posted the highest profits in recorded history of human kind. Seriously.
All you have to do is read. Know the facts, rather than believing the right-wing spin at face value. There are a lot of very powerful, very, very rich people spinning the country right now because they want to keep as much money as possible. It has nothing to do with you. They’re using you by lying to you if you believe all the “Obama is so anti-capitalism” crap.
I’m also sick and tired of Mitt Romney’s claim that his time at Bain capital somehow makes him perfect to be President of the United States. Mr. Romney, would you care to elaborate on how venture capitalism has anything to do with getting bills passed in the Senate? Or how you can read a balance sheet has anything to do with making military decisions as Commander in Chief?
Where’s Newt Gingrich when you need him? (Never would I think I’d ask that question.). When Newt was still running he had many good points about how Mitt Romney’s business experience at Bain Capital had nothing whatsoever to do with the knowledge, skills, and above all else the judgement needed to be president. And above above all else: venture capitalists do NOT focus on creating jobs, they focus on creating the largest profit margin as possible, which, even as the Godfather himself agrees, sometimes that means shutting down companies and firing a lot of people.
President Obama is not anti-capitalism. Learn his actual policies if you think otherwise.
He is not anti-capitalist, anti-wealthy, or whatever else Fox and Right-wing radio wants to try and convince you.
Anyone who believes Obama is “anti-capitalist” has been fooled by the propaganda of the Koch brothers and their billionaire friends.
PLEASE start looking at policy, not listening to what others tell you. The same people who believe the Obama administration is somehow anti-capitalism I’m sure would embrace and cheer for his rather aggressive covert military actions (that they LOVED under Bush, but for some reason decry as a combination of cowardly and evil if it’s Obama. Once again, reason has no place in American politics.
Anyone who gives it more than 10 seconds individual thought knows the Obama Administration not anti capitalism. President Obama understands that there is MORE to stable capitalism that profit. There is MORE to the economy than the same, tired, ancient, proven-as-wrong by the last near collapse of the economy and by everything that’s happening in Europe right now: the same old de-regulation and privatize everything DOES NOT WORK! It doesn’t work!!!
Anyone who also gives it 10 seconds of thought knows that simply being the CEO of a private equity firm does not give you the skills to be president. That doesn’t mean that it disqualifies you, but it doesn’t automatically make you qualified. So stop using that one point as the magic qualification.
Just like having a political rally while standing in front of a lot of women doesn’t magically undo all the anti-woman policies that republicans have written into law the last year, saying over and over that Obama is anti-capitalism doesn’t magically make it so. At least not to voters who care enough to think for themselves. I guess this whole debate once again proves how little the Republican Party actually thinks of its base: all they do is exploit their faith and count on blind loyalty with a dash of stupidity as a result of misinformation.
